Dentures and Dental Implants

Dentures and dental implants are both solutions for replacing missing teeth and restoring a functional, confident smile.

Dentures are removable appliances that replace natural teeth and provide support for the cheeks and lips. They can be conventional, made after the gums have healed, or immediate, placed right after tooth extraction. Upper dentures cover the palate, while lower dentures are horseshoe-shaped to allow room for the tongue. Dentures can be made of acrylic, plastic, or porcelain, and may also be secured to dental implants for a more stable and comfortable fit. Over time, dentures may need to be relined or replaced as the jaw and gum ridges change.

Dental implants act as replacement tooth roots, providing a strong foundation for fixed or removable teeth that match your natural teeth. Implants offer improved appearance, speech, comfort, and eating ability compared to traditional dentures. They also support long-term oral health by preserving surrounding teeth and bone, and they are highly durable, often lasting a lifetime with proper care. When combined with dentures, implants can stabilize the appliance, preventing slipping and enhancing comfort and confidence.
